Volunteer Tutor Requirements
Complete the REAL Volunteer Application and email to Diane Ward at dward@partnersinoutreach.org
Attend one 2-hour training session. These training sessions, held in September, include information on tutoring, working with the early-grade students, and other important logistical information. Contact Diane Ward for the next available training session
Complete and submit Background Clearances.
Background Clearances
PA Child Abuse and PA Criminal History clearances are necessary for all REAL Tutoring volunteers. The FBI Criminal Check is ONLY NECESSARY if you have not resided in PA for the past 10 years.

PA Child Abuse Clearance
Go to: Pennsylvania Child Welfare Information Solution Website
Click ‘Create individual Account’
Then, click ‘Next’ Create Keystone ID (username)
Click ‘Finish’
Follow instructions and print when received

PA Criminal History Record Check
Select ‘New Record Check’ (Volunteers Only)
Accept the terms
Complete the first screen and select ‘Next’
Review Information and click ‘Proceed’
Re-enter your information and select ‘Enter this Request’
On the next screen select ‘View Queued Record Check Requests’
Verify your name, select ‘Submit”.
Your name and reference number should appear.
Click the ‘Control #’ by your name
Click ‘Certification Form’ and print the clearance, it should have the state seal in the background.

FBI National Criminal Record Check
(If you have not resided in PA for the past 10 years)

Enter the following Service Code: 1KG6Y3
Telephone registration is available at 1-844-321-2101 Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. EST
Payment made at the time of fingerprinting.
Please bring a valid identification with you.

Archdiocese Required Training
(Only required for volunteers in the Catholic schools. Training must be completed within 90 days from tutoring start date.)
Attend Protecting God’s Children; Class provides basic facts about child sexual abuse and the adults’ role in prevention. Schedule your zoom class here
Mandatory Reporter Training: This is an online training. Please login and complete the online training here.
